Navy Denies Classified UAP Briefing Video Under National Security

Operations issued a FOIA/Privacy Act determination letter, signed by G. Cason, Deputy Director of the DON FOIA/PA Program Office, that refused in full a request for a classified briefing video. The letter, sent by email to Mr.

John Greenewald of The Black Vault, closed out case number DON-NAVY-2022-004903, which had been received on February 23, 2022 — the same day the requester filed it. The request did not ask for an entire archive. " The requester anchored the demand in a separate NASA FOIA action, Request 22-HQ-F-00140, which he cited as evidence that a video does exist and should therefore be responsive.

That cross-agency paper trail is what makes the denial notable: the Navy did not dispute that a record existed. C. § 552 (b)(1).
